Antichrist Superstar is a darker, moodier sound from Manson’s previous two releases, and is an echo of a particular turbulent period in his life, which included the recording of the album in New Orleans through a drug fuelled spiral, the abortion of his child, the break-up of his relationship and co-founder Daisy Berkowitz walking out on the band. ACSS is seen by many fans as the one that really drew them in and of course it got noticed by the outside world, it’s imagery and words causing controversy through the American Christian Right.
Reviews: Rolling Stones Magazine review by Lorraine
Antichrist Superstar writhes with a cool, sinister and taunting feel – eerie synthesizer-type whistles, heavy breathing, monster groans and grunts – before lurching out from the shadows with hammering percussion and static-loaded feedback. That dramatic jack-in-the-box ploy should have been used more often; some of the songs here are just too flat, leaving spaces of monotony on the record that feel like popcorn-fetching intermissions.

Lol, the gods of fuck box set is not an official item from the band.
I know – it is only listed under related as it is related to this era. Although unofficial it contains alot of material from this era and artwork from this era too. I put it in here as I felt it was related to this era of my collection. I will make the listing clearer with unofficial on it
release date was 1997.
Is that for the Simply Vinyl release? (Not sure which item this is pertaining to)
sorry, forgot about this
I meant the GOF box, or at least that's the date I got (and mansonwiki also mentions)
