It used to be that bands would build their following through bootlegs – Metallica were best known for this over the past 20 + years. This practice continues today. But comes in many forms. With the advent of computers in every home (so to speak) a lot more people have the ability to share a recording of a show. There’s also with the rise in popularity of places like eBay a market which has become a breeding ground in some respects for fake and bootleg items. There is also what is considered the unofficial official, or semi-bootleg – take the Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids years. Many people seem to hold rights to selling early recordings of Spooky Kids shows. Manson’s former girlfriend Missi Romero and others have had a hand in a series of unofficial releases of Spooky Kid shows which are a great listening experience. This page showcases my collection of these items. In some cases you will see items from the collection on the site elsewhere if I feel it bears importance to a related era.
